Bukhara is one of the most ancient cities in Central Asia. Archeological studies have taken
the city's history two and half millennia back. During its long history Bukhara has known
periods of development and decadence . It had many names and epithets - Bukhara the Noble ,
the Dome of Islam , the Pillar of Religion and others. Bukhara was taken many times by
different dynasties and kings since antiquity , but it grew constantly at one and the same
place . The city retains its architectural and archeological monuments of different periods
which make a cultural inheritance of the whole humanity , so it is rightfully considered as the
largest open air museum in Central Asia. This is the only city in the region to have preserved
its vitality and partly original urban structure.
Immerse yourself in the historic center where magnificent monuments abound , peep through
the Pronto doors to see typical family life , or drink tea on the beds of the teahouse in
front of the Labia- haul pond where at sunset , in summer, the local children hold diving
competitions.
